Visitor Management is a feature that allows tenants to create visits for attendees outside of the building. The feature also includes a dashboard for Building Security and Tenant Managers, which allows users to see upcoming visits, check in visitors, and create and manage Watchlist entries.
The Watchlist allows building management to place people on a “Do Not Allow” list. When the visitor on the list tries to check in at the security desk, security receives a notification that the visitor is on the watchlist and turns them away.
This design was a refresh of the existing feature, which previously did not have a dashboard, ID scanning for security, or a watchlist. In the refresh, I updated the styling while also adding some clarity to the feature. Previously, we had “Visits”, “Visitors”, and “Visitor Directory” within Visitor Management (A visit can have multiple visitors, but a visitor is always an individual). After the update, I combined “Visits” and “Visitors” into a “Visits” table, that expands to show individual visits. I also added the “Dashboard” section, and renamed “Visitor Directory” to “Visitor Management”.
This was a very interesting feature to work on for multiple reasons – I got to work on integrations with ID Scanners, table and dashboard design, and I worked with four key personas within the same feature!
